Who can play Wheelchair Basketball ????
Wheelchair Basketball can be played by people with and without disabilities. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to join our club.
All Wheelchair Basketball Players are classified according to their Disability. Players are assigned a points value – People without a disability are ‘5’ point players whereas a player with limited trunk function and balance due to their disability may be a ‘1’ or ‘1.5’ point player.
When a team goes on court they must add up to no more than 14,15 or 16 points depending on which league they are playing in. Only one 5 pointer (able bodied player) may be on the court at any time.
